- Abstract
The fibre-resin adhesion has been reinforced by plasmatreatment on ultra-high molecular weight polythlene(UHMW-PE)fibres.This paper reports a study of the mechanism of the adhesion from thechanging of the surface energy. The experimental results show the surfaceenergy of the fibres has been greatly increased for plasma treatment andthus meets the prerequisite of fibre-resin adhesion. The fibres are comple-tely rinsed in the epoxy matrix.
