- Abstract
On the foundation of lucubrating the concept and connotation of the historic cultural towns,this paper analyzes the contradictions and problems for their protection briefly.The main contradictions and problems are as follows: the relationship between the types of city space structure and the rate of economic development,the progress of tourism and the historic city protection,the authenticity and the false curio,the system of public participation and the public's protection consciousness etc.Finally,it presents some countermeasures for those problems given above.
